There are three types of rooms for mom and baby after delivery, the room with four people (payed by goverment), semi-private room (2 patients, each $235 per night), and private room ($285 per night) with shower. Private room has single bed (patient's bed) for mom, and dad can stay over night, and sleeps on sofa. The nurse takes care of both mom and baby. Mom gets patient's food from hospital.

About how long mom and baby can stay at hospital, has nothing to do with English. It's not about how long the mom wants to stay there. It's about mom and baby's health condition.

& l7 Z' R( u) T- a2 _1 eThe rooms (at St Joseph's there are four rooms with no doors only curtains) with queen size bed are only at care by parents unit is a part of NICU. And these are the only rooms NICU have for parents at St Joseph's. It's for the families whose babies are patiens at NICU and baby cannot get dicharged with mom, but don't need one to one care by nurse. In this room only baby is patient at hospital, and nurse helps parents to take care of the baby. And parents have to prepare their own food. Hospital no longer provide food for mom.

Normally it will disapear after baby has green stool. Family doctor, or pediatrican can answer this kind of questions at the first week's check up after delivery. |
